It came with blue cheese whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. ![]() Seriously, this was a meal where my plate was wiped clean at the end. (Their Bearnaise sauce was bliss.) My wife had the Chilean sea bass. Terrace was pleasant at 5 pm, even thought temperature was 90+. Beautifully cooked-the golden-brown edges and corners were morsels to cherish. ![]() I had the happy hour special of a dozen oysters (chief selection) for 20. I love sea bass and hers was up there with the best I've had. Price: We got champagne, an appetizer and prime menu options. Dine at the best San Antonio restaurants, such as Silo Terrace Oyster Bar. The tab was BIG-probably the most we've spent on a single meal for just the two of us in years. But we're already plotting when we can go back. It's not cheap to dine here but SIlo offers a great value in my opinion, because the portion sizes are big (a lot bigger than I was expecting honestly) and the food is *delicious.* This place just rocketed to to top of our favorites list.Silo Terrace Oyster Bar Restaurant Review:Īt this Silo location, there’s a new emphasis on fresh oysters and global seafood the second-story scenario of the original outpost, however, remains the same. But if forced to wait in the downstairs lobby, you can at least get a glass of wine from card-operated dispensers. A better wine selection is available upstairs, where a snappy bottle of unoaked Macon Villages pairs nicely with a half dozen oysters from Bristol Bay or maybe Nova Scotia. Chilled Maine lobster is another starter option for colder months, consider the clam chowder with sherry cream. We haven’t been altogether thrilled with the overdressed fried green tomatoes or the ceviche in the past, but Silo’s signature fried oysters rarely disappoint. 1210 (Stonewall Pkwy.) And big plates, such as the lush lobster ravioli with its overkill of butter and more butter, can be spectacularly good. The open kitchen has also turned out some very respectable chef-picked fish options, including a rendition of blackened swordfish, a dish that can stand up to a sprightly red from Northern Italy. An open terrace accommodates lunches or dinners on balmy days and nights, of which San Antonio does have at least a few. ![]()
